Pledge for Nature
Plant a Tree

Trees are vital to life and help combat climate change.
If you have the land, planting a broadleaf is a gift to future generations to sit under and enjoy, whilst sustaining wildlife.
Whether a single tree in the garden, or a copse if you have the land, we need more trees.
Pledge 1 – Plant a native tree
Native trees are used to our environment and grow best. Consider planting a multi-stem tree. Multi-stems have greater foliage mass than their single stem counterparts giving them a higher environmental rating. They provide excellent habitats for insects and birds and their aesthetic appeal is undisputed. South Hams tree nursery New Wood Trees specialise in growing multi-stem trees, particularly our British native varieties.

Pledge 3 – Plant a Wildlife Hedge
