Here's what seems a recipe for successful, doable, and positive local action, which makes the best of any available space that we have.
Collaboration between the Blackawton's Sustainability group, the Parish Council, and with a referendum carried out by the community shop, means that this piece of land you see now really enhances the area. It is a more welcoming habitat for both human and non-human Life.
This to me is collaborative, participatory, and democratic engagement in action. Re-imagining what a space should, and could, be like Together, not making it too complex, then getting on and making it happen.
And shows how improving our environment and habitat can also benefit us directly.
